Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme in Germany: Transforming Healthcare with AI
The International Relations Department of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu invites students to apply for an exciting Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) hosted by the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT), Germany.
Entitled “Transforming Healthcare with AI: Bridging Knowledge, Practical Applications, and Adoption”, this international programme explores the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Healthcare, combining virtual learning with an onsite mobility experience in Germany.

The onsite week also includes participation in DigiHealthDayS 2026, an international Digital Health conference taking place on 12–13 November 2026, bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, innovators, policymakers and students from around the world to discuss the future of healthcare technologies. Participants should register separately for this event.
What will you learn?
During this interdisciplinary programme, participants will explore how Artificial Intelligence is transforming healthcare through lectures, workshops and collaborative international learning.
The programme will cover topics such as:
- Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in healthcare
- Neural Networks and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI applications in clinical practice
- Data quality, algorithmic bias and explainable AI
- Ethical and regulatory aspects of healthcare AI
- User-centred design and trust in digital health technologies
- Validation and implementation of AI solutions in real healthcare environments
Why participate?
Besides developing valuable knowledge in one of today’s fastest-growing fields, participants will:
- study alongside international students;
- work with experts in Digital Health;
- attend lectures and practical workshops (6–8 hours/day);
- earn 4 ECTS credits upon successful completion;
- receive an official certificate after attending at least 90% of the programme and completing all assignments.

The International Office at Deggendorf Institute of Technology will organise several networking and cultural activities, including:

The programme is open to Bachelor’s and Master’s students from:
- Health Sciences
- Computer Science
- Related disciplines
No advanced programming knowledge is required.
