Online course: Multilingual Learning Environments

The course helps students to build strategies for the conscious design and development of physical and virtual learning environments, known as school capes. The course raises awareness of the role school capes play in institutional interaction of various kinds: classroom interaction, organizational cultures of communication, and narrated local/national/global history. The course invites students to build a spatial and social understanding of learning, which contributes to the development of original teaching practices focused on interaction, exploratory learning and customized learning environments.

The course is offered as a face-to-face course to those who are physically in Jyväskylä during the spring semester of 2025, but it is also possible to participate online. If the lecture schedule does not fit into your calendar, you can also complete the course with self-study.

The course is worth 1-2 ECTS credits, depending on the workload the student chooses. It is available from 18 February till 25 May 2025.
