ULBS Student Elected Chairperson of the FORTHEM Student Council

Ioan-Bogdan Mînzat, a student at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu (ULBS), has been elected Chairperson of the Student Council of the European university alliance FORTHEM.

In line with the Alliance’s regulations, the one-year mandate is held jointly with a representative from another member university. As of March, Bogdan Mînzat serves alongside Eirik Arnestad Næss, a student at the University of Agder (Norway).

Currently in his third year of Business Informatics, Mînzat previously represented ULBS in the FORTHEM Student Council for one year. His election marks a significant recognition of his active engagement in the international academic community and offers a valuable opportunity to represent student interests at the European level.

In his new role, he aims to strengthen dialogue between students and university leadership, foster intercultural collaboration, and support initiatives that enhance the overall academic experience.

His key priorities include amplifying the voice of students across member universities, building stronger connections between student communities, and developing projects that contribute to improving student life within the Alliance.

Mînzat will work closely with the 17 members of the Student Council, as well as with representatives of FORTHEM partner universities.

ULBS has been a member of the FORTHEM Alliance since 2021, alongside Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany), the University of Latvia, the University of Burgundy (France), the University of Agder (Norway), the University of Palermo (Italy), the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), the University of Opole (Poland), and the University of Valencia (Spain). At the time of its establishment, the FORTHEM Alliance brought together over 200,000 students and 20,000 academic staff.
